STEPHENIE MEYER BACKING OFF BOOK TOURSForks Forum StaffAn invitation to author Stephenie Meyer to attend the 2nd annual Stephenie Meyer Day in Forks next fall has been graciously turned down. Meyer's publicist Elizabeth Eulberg sent an e-mail this week to Ellen Matheny, the Director, Education & Outreach at the University of Washington's Olympic Natural Resource Center in Forks. "I recently had a discussion with Stephenie and her agent regarding the many requests for events and Stephenie has decided that she will no longer be touring or doing special events," Eulberg said in an e-mail to Matheny. "The past couple years have taken a toll on her and she needs to make her focus her family and writing. I know how disappointing this news is to you and the people of Forks, and Stephenie is so happy that the town has been so supportive of the books (and film). She really loves Forks and plans on going back to the town to visit someday, but only as a tourist." Eulberg concluded, "Thank you again for everything you have done. Im sure with the upcoming movie, the fan traffic of Forks will only increase!" |
