"Twilight" fans Jessica and Abby Dyer of Aurora, Illinois visited the Forks Chamber of Commerce's Visitor Information Center on Monday, July 28. They took photos of themselves with the 1952 Chevy pickup being used as a stand-in for  truck driven by Bella in the best-selling, Forks-set book series “Twilight.” The truck was painted red by chamber member Bruce Guckenberg. Guckenberg and other Chamber members donated the truck and it is now on permanent display.

The University Book Store in Seattle's University District is staging a "Forks away from Forks" promotion in an in-store event marking the release of the West End-set book "Breaking Dawn" by author Stephenie Meyer. The book is the fourth in the international best-selling "Twilight" book series. Stesha Brandon, the public relations and events manager for the store, told the Forks Forum that the event is being held Friday night and features a scavenger hunt in the store for clues related to locations in Forks mentioned in the book. A drawing for weekend stays in Forks is the grand prize, with the book store purchasing accommodations and tickets on the Forks Chamber of Commerce's Twilight Tours ride as part of the package.
