FORKS TWILIGHT PARODY PHOTO AVAILABLE

Twilight fans Allie Teplicky (left) and Sarah Cordoza from Redmond picked up a parody Twilight photo created by Larry Burtness of the Forks Open Aire Market on Saturday, Sept. 27, where the market was celebrating Hickory Shirt day. Burtness digitally altered a historic photo of two men in a Model-T found in the Forks Timber Museum collection. He added a photo of Edward Cullen, the boyfriend of Twilight book main character Bella Swan, atop the driver’s face and tweaked other lighting elements in the photo, which he calls “Edwards First Car ca. 1920.” A caption on the back of the photo reads: “A rare photo of Edward’s first car from right around the time the Cullen family first came to Forks. The road to Forks was just made passable to automobiles at this time, and cars were still a novelty in Forks. The road around Lake Crescent from Port Angeles was not completed until 1921.”
