Forks took a hit to its hopes for the football postseason when it dropped a road tilt to Elma 30-7 Friday night.
The Spartans were stumped by a stout Eagles defense, blanked until quarterback Javier Contreras found the end zone on a 12-yard scamper in the fourth quarter.
Elma jumped into a tie for first place in the SWL-Evergreen league standings.
The Spartans dropped to 2-3 in league, 3-5 overall, and return to Forks Friday to face Hoquiam.
