July 29, 1961 – May 3, 2022

Veronica Long was born on July 29, 1961, in San Francisco, CA to Tony Lazaro and Peppi Anderson. Growing up she loved to fish the bay at China Camp State Park.

In 1995 she moved to Port Ludlow and there she met the love of her life, Charlie Long, they married in 1997 and made their home in Forks.

Veronica loved the Forks area; she loved to fish, hunt, ride horses, pick mushrooms, and wild berries.

Veronica learned to can; she canned fish, vegetables, and Chanterelles, and made jelly from the berries she picked. She was generous and caring and shared much of what she canned with friends and sometimes just people that she met.

She loved her farm, her horses, dogs, cats, and all animals; she was a caregiver to elders …she was loved by people from all walks of life, they loved her and she loved them back. She is going to be missed by many whose lives she touched, most of all her “Old Guy.”

She was a talented artist, sometimes walking the river bars or beach she would find driftwood that she thought resembled something, bring them home and transform it into a lion’s head or an elephant.

Veronica was a hard-working, hard-loving woman. Anything that she did she did with her whole heart and seemed to be good at everything she tried.

Veronica is survived by her husband, Charlie, of 27 years. She is also survived by her mother and siblings; Tony, Julie, Lori, Linda, Stacey, Krystal, and Eric; and stepson Gene (Tammy) Long, and grandchildren Tyler and Jake.

Veronica could make the rainiest days shine …she was the rainbow in the lives of those who knew her; her ability to love was so incredible … one family member shared … “She could make friends with the devil.”

There will be a Celebration of Life on July 29, 2022, at 1 p.m., at Last Chance Camp, 1331 E. Division St.
