September is an action-packed month for Clallam Bay Sekiu Lions. They start off the month hosting the regular Sunday visits for guests and volunteers at the Cowan Farm at Hoko River State Park from 2-4 p.m. Also, Lions will be participating vendors in the Great Strait Sale on Sept. 9 and 10. Lions will have items for sale at the Lion’s Den from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Lions partner with the Clallam Bay Sekiu Chamber of Commerce to produce the Western Strait Beach Cleanup on Saturday, Sept. 17, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Registration for the Western Strait beaches will be at the Visitor Center in Clallam Bay. Lions work on this local Cleanup as well as working with the Washington Clean Coast Alliance/CoastSavers coordinating beach cleanups along the Washington Coastline. West End residents can join the cleanups in Clallam Bay or Lake Ozette up north, and at Olympic National Park beaches on the coast. All volunteers are needed to remove marine debris from our beautiful beaches.

At the back of the Clallam Bay Lions Den, Lions maintain a garden and offer free plants as they are available.

Stop by regularly, take plants that you can use, and plant them in your yards.

Look forward to a trip to Cowan Farm up the Hoko-Ozette Road west of Sekiu for the annual Potato Dig/Seed Swap on Sunday, September 25 from 2-4 pm.

This is a great opportunity to enjoy the farm, help in the harvest of potatoes and exchange seeds with neighbors.
