OCC incarcerated give back to the community

Pastor Warren Johnson and others recently installed a small Food Pantry near the Forks Congregational Church which happens to be across the street from Forks High School. The idea was to help students and others who might need a little something to eat, for one reason or another.

When Pastor Johnson is not doing his duties at the Church, located on Spartan Avenue, he is employed at Olympic Corrections Center. Johnson shared that when he told the incarcerated at OCC about the Food Pantry they wanted to donate some of their food items to help the cause.

“Many of those donating have gone without food, they know what it is like,” Johnson said. So soon the box was filling up at OCC with donations and with those donations and others from the community the pantry is filled each morning.

Recently someone who took advantage of the pantry left a message of thanks.
