Polly Garland was the wife of Elks Past Grand Exalted Ruler Frank O. Garland. Although not a member of the Elks, Polly was active in their home Lodge, was a member of the Emblem Club, and worked tirelessly for the benefit of the Washington State Elks Association. The Polly Garland Award was established in 2004 by PGER Roger True and his wife Marilyn to recognize those Ladies who, like Polly, have given their time and support to their Lodge and the State Association.
Forks Elks #2524’s nomination and WSEA West District winner is Lois Hunley. Lois is always willing to step up to help our lodge in its efforts towards all of our charities including youth activities, veterans, and the WSEA major projects.
Lois created and sewed blankets for the new 7-room veterans home for homeless veterans at the Hobucket House in Forks, as well as for charity auctions held through the past years to benefit our lodge. She makes designer face masks, homemade firestarters, and donates her world-famous Pickled Weiners for auctions. Her efforts alone helped raise $500 towards our auction goal.
Lois spends approximately 4 days a week helping in many capacities in the day-to-day running of the lodge and all the activities your lodge does for our community. Congratulations to Lois, a tireless team member, and helper extraordinaire!
