BETTY CAROLYN (SMITH) OTOS

Betty Carolyn (Smith) Otos was born May 19, 1931, in Clark County, Vancouver, WA. She grew up on the family farm in Brush Prairie, WA, graduated from Battle Ground High School in 1949, and Clark Community College in 1951, with an AA Degree, acting as Associated Student Body secretary. Betty passed away June 17, 2023, and will rest in the arms of the Lord alongside her husband, Gordon Francis Otos, in the Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery.

During their time living in Forks Betty and Gordon owned KVAC and from November 1967 to September 1975 they owned the Forks Forum where Betty worked as News and Copy Editor.

On July 29, a Memorial Service will be held at the church: 12919 NE 159th St, Brush Prairie, WA, 98606, at 2 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m., with a following reception. A livestream of the service can be accessed at:

Betty is survived by her sons: Randy Otos (Marva Lee), David Otos (Kari), Clifford Otos (Kathy); daughter Debora (Otos) Anderson; two granddaughters, six grandsons, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Ruth Smith; brother, C. Orlin Smith; sisters, Eva (Smith) Wingert, Ruth (Smith) Talerico; and husband, Gordon Otos.
