The City is requesting Forks residents undertake voluntary efforts to reduce water usage.
This is in light of the many dry days we have had so far, and the want to ensure that we have water available for any emergency fire response that may arise.
The City of Forks utilizes deep underground wells to supply the community with water. In response to the very dry weather, we have had so far, the City is asking residents to implement the following voluntary water conservation measures immediately:
• Limit watering of outdoor plants, gardens, and yards to less than thirty minutes every
other day with such watering occurring in the early morning or late evening.
• Limit washing of vehicles to once every five to seven days unless required as in the case
of commercial trucks and equipment.
Water customers can also help to conserve water by ensuring that their dishwashers and clothes washers are used to wash full loads. Even small efforts, such as turning off the water while brushing your teeth can be of help.
The City appreciates any help from you that ensures we do not need to pursue more regulatory approaches in the weeks ahead.
