PORT ANGELES, Wash. – The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) invites artists in the Pacific Northwest to submit artwork for the World AIDS Day: Art in the Library exhibition that will be displayed in the Port Angeles Main Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. Online applications at nols.org/AIDS-day-art will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 1.

Artists living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, those impacted by the journey or loss of a loved one, or individuals who have something artistic to contribute to the conversation are encouraged to apply. Works of art in any medium and format – including 2D, 3D, video, performance, music, poetry, and more – are welcome.

The exhibition opens with a reception on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1, at the Port Angeles Main Library and remains on view through Feb. 29, 2024. Selected artists will drop off work Nov. 13-18 and may choose to list their artwork for sale; the Library does not charge or take a commission. Artists may choose to remain anonymous.

Art in the Library is a program sponsored by the North Olympic Library System, which provides display space for original artwork. Support comes from the Port Angeles Friends of the Library. After a hiatus due to COVID, the World AIDS Day exhibition will be the first on display since March 2020. Future exhibitions will rotate on a quarterly basis.
