5th Grade:
Tommy Sorensen
Tommy’s favorites include the color green, steak, cats, math, and playing baseball in his free time. Tommy likes school because he enjoys learning new stuff. This year his goal is to get better at ELA. Teachers reported, “Tommy shows responsibility with everything. He turns in work that is neat and organized and on time. He makes up anything that needs to be redone right away. Tommy is kind to his classmates and will willingly work with anyone. He’s respectful to adults and classmates. Tommy sets a good example for other students with his work ethic, kindness, respectful attitude, and enjoyment of learning.” He wants to thank Mrs. Echeita (the 5th grade math teacher) for supporting him. Way to go Tommy!
6th Grade:
Alice “Cricket” Hammer
Alice’s nickname is Cricket. Cricket likes the color blue. Her favorite food is homemade tacos. She likes bunnies, cats, and owls. Her favorite subject is ELA and she likes to draw in her free time. She is also really good at it. Cricket says she likes school because she has friends here and she would be dumb without school. This year she wants to do fun stuff and have summer break. One teacher said, “Cricket is an exceptional student who goes above and beyond in everything she does. She works hard, is kind to her peers, and loves to learn. Cricket will willingly help any student she can to help them be successful as well. Cricket is not only a great student, but a role model to her peers.” Another teacher added, “Cricket is a hard-working student who deserves to be student of the month! She actively participates in class and does well with her assignments. Cricket is a friend to all and offers a helping hand to any student or teacher in need.” One final comment from a third teacher was, “Cricket is a born naturalist. She loves learning about nature and the world around her. Cricket is an amazing scientist, and a very inquisitive student. She is thoughtful, kind, compassionate and looks out for others. Congratulations Cricket! You Matter!” Cricket would like to thank everyone for supporting her. Keep up the good work Cricket!
7th Grade:
Liliana Lopez Calmo
Liliana likes school because she gets to learn more and she gets to see her friends. Liliana said she wants to get good grades this year. Her favorite color is blue. She likes pizza, dogs, and enjoys playing with her friends in her free time. Liliana’s favorite subject is Pacific Northwest History this year. One of her teachers commented, “Liliana is self-motivated and hard-working. She attacks every challenge with a positive attitude and does not quit until she is proud of her work. She is also kind, respectful, and always willing to help others.” Another teacher reported, “ is a polite and respectful student. She always does her best work. When she has an error on her work she wants to know why and how to correct the error.” Finally, “I am proud of the growth that Liliana has experienced over the last couple of years. It has been a pleasure watching her become more responsible and dedicated towards succeeding in school.” Liliana wants to thank all of her teachers for supporting her! Great job Liliana.
8th Grade:
Patricia Calderon-Weed
Patricia’s favorites are the color purple, stir-fry with rice, and cats. Her favorite subject this year is Humanities. In her free time, she likes to crochet. Patricia likes school because she gets to see her friends. This year she wants to graduate from the 8th grade and move on to high school. Patricia’s teachers noted, “Patricia is such a careful thinker. She is a quiet leader who leads with her example. She puts so much effort into her work which is usually flawless. She pays close attention to details. She has a great sense of humor. I really enjoy having her in my class this year!”. Another teacher said, “Patricia exceeds expectations of responsibility for someone her age. She is such a resilient young person who has a strong moral compass. I cannot wait to see what she accomplishes in her future.” Patricia wants to thank her grandmother for supporting her. Stay amazing Patricia!
