Bill Wells named new DNR Regional Manager

Bill Wells, on the left, the newest DNR Olympic Region Manager, speaks with retired DNR employee Gordon Gibbs after last week’s West End Business and Professional Association meeting. Wells first came to Forks and the DNR in 2003 as a field forester. Over the years he has held several positions with the department including spending some time working in Olympia. Wells said, “Our daughters grew up here and graduated from Forks High School. Forks is home to us and we plan to stay here.” Wells’ spouse works in the community as a social worker.

Wells began his new position on December 1 and shared that things are going well at the Forks office as some of the open positions are being filled. Housing is still a big issue for hiring new staff. Photo Christi Baron
