Wreaths Across America – Forks Ceremony

Veteran and American Legion member Joe Offutt looks on after placing a wreath at the grave of Dean Kilgore. Kilgore was born in Missouri in 1897 and served during WWI. He was a member of the American Legion and teacher and Superintendent at Quillayute Union High School and passed at the young age of 42 in 1940. Two hundred and two wreaths were placed at the Forks Cemetery on Saturday, December 16. Submitted Photo

Meg Rasmussen offered Taps during the Wreaths Across America ceremony in Forks. The wreaths will remain on the veteran graves until January 13, 2024, when they will be picked up and recycled. This is the forth year that Forks has hosted a ceremony. Submitted Photos
