In a celebration of nature and camaraderie, approximately 16 adventurous souls gathered for the annual First Day Walk on the Little Hoko River Trail. The event, a cherished tradition in this remote area, drew participants from the local community as well as enthusiasts from Port Angeles, Forks, and as far as Langley on Whidbey Island.
The hikers, a mix of regulars and first-timers, embarked on the scenic trail to welcome the new year with the breathtaking beauty of our area.
As the hikers traversed the trail, exchanging stories and laughter, a couple from Northern California added a unique flavor to the gathering as they aimed to reel in Steelhead on the Hoko River.
The weather, alternating between sunny and cloudy, created the perfect backdrop for lingering conversations among the hikers and fishers alike.
The Little Hoko River Trail not only provided a scenic escape for the locals but also welcomed kindred spirits from different corners, creating a memorable start to the new year.
