He had been born on the Hoh at the family Homestead in 1922 and always joked he was born on the Hoh behind a blackberry bush. There had been bluegrass music at Chito Beach and Marge Archibald was NOT sharing her hamburger with a very cute dog (photo). Olympic Corrections Center had reported two escapees.

In 1974 the Forks Chamber had voted in favor of the Lake Crescent By-pass. A report on the Library’s Summer Reading Program shared that sixth grader Kim Price had read over 60 books and received an award. The Summer Reading Program had been started in 1966. A&A Electronics was advertising their Grand Opening for their new addition of Radio Shack. They were holding drawings throughout the day …first prize was an RCA 8-track player.

In 1952 it was reported, by School Superintendent Brown, that school could not open until the new teachers found housing. The situation was desperate …The town was seeking surplus lighting from the Civil Aeronautics Administration for the Forks Airport. The engagement of Jackie Hamilton and John Kilmer was announced. The Forks 4-H Fair was happening at the school. It was reported that fifteen-year-old Louis Cook had caught a 38-pound salmon.
