(Pollywog)
Paul James Haugh, age 72, of Forks WA, born on November 24, 1952, passed away on July 10, 2024, from a long battle with cancer.
Paul lived in California as a young child with his mother. Paul eventually adventured to Forks, Washington in 1976 where he has been a log truck driver for the last 40+ years. In his younger years, while living in California, he found joy in surfing the waves. Later, he channeled his love for speed into racing sprint and stock cars, always pushing the limits with a fierce determination. He also found tranquility in flying RC planes, a hobby that combined his love for mechanics and the skies. He had a deep appreciation for collecting and shooting guns, a pastime he enjoyed throughout his life. Most of all, he was most passionate about his family and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for any of them. Paul lived a life full of adventure, hard work, dedication, and love.
He was a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather and great-grandfather. Paul is survived by his wonderful wife Darci, three daughters Candi (Harvey), Miranda (Ron), and Shanna, two sons Brandon (Tracy), and Scott (Shannon), all his grandchildren Erica, Amanda, Paityn, Jackson, Jaylee, Ry, Gage, Hadleigh, Kashtian, and Krew and great-granddaughter Harper. Paul is preceded in death by his son Ben and both parents.
A graveside funeral service was held on July 19, 2024, at 2 pm for family and close friends.
Saturday, July 20, 2024, a truck procession of log trucks in memory of Pollywog went through our little town of Forks at 2 pm. The 47-truck caravan started on the A Road, paraded through town, and ended at the Forks Elk Lodge where the family of Paul James Haugh invited all to come celebrate Paul’s life. We enjoyed some food and shared our fondest memories and stories.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the Swanson and Worley families, the nurses at the Forks Hospital who cared for him, all the truckers who joined the procession, Shelley & Steve Castellano for the wonderful food, and Donna Blakeslee. Our family will be forever grateful!
