This week in 1999 it was reported that the Lloyd Geroge Jeweler’s clock vandalizer had been identified. The Quileute/La Push Police Department was getting funding to add more officers. Long-time Clallam County Sheriff Deputy Ralph Edgington was retiring. A Blessing of the Animals was being planned at Tillicum Park.

This week in 1974 ITT Rayonier had honored employee milestones – some recognized were William Lausche, Lawrence Palmer, Lewis Maneval, Frank Rogers, Richard Wahlgren, and Arden Prissel. Four people had been injured in a freak accident near the Forks Intermediate School. Somehow some power lines had drooped and a delivery truck that had gone under them many times snagged them…pulling them down and shattering the poles. Two women walking by were injured and a 12-year-old boy suffered a broken leg; Billy Justus was also injured but not seriously. The accident also took out the power to the school building. In Spartan sports news, Spartan Joe Carter had suffered a broken leg in a game with Ilwaco. It was reported in the “Kid’s Stuff” column that Teri Bagby had water skied for the first time.
