Mark your calendars for an evening of fun, food, and local brews as the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition (PCSC) hosts its highly anticipated Fish N Brew event on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Kit’la Roundhouse, Hwy 101/La Push Rd. Junction. Running from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the event promises to be a celebration of community, creativity, and conservation, all in support of the nonprofit’s efforts to restore salmon habitats along the Olympic Peninsula.
The highlight of the event will be a friendly competition of homemade fish dishes paired with home-brewed beers, ciders, and seltzers. Local cooks and brewers will showcase their best creations, offering attendees a chance to sample and vote for their favorites. It’s an opportunity for everyone to indulge in some of the finest local flavors.
For those looking to expand their beverage horizons, a beer garden featuring brews from across the Olympic Peninsula will also be on hand. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
In addition to the food and drink, Fish N Brew will feature a live auction to raise funds for PCSC’s ongoing salmon habitat restoration projects. Auction items include a mix of local art, handcrafted goods, and even guided fishing trips, all donated by community members and local businesses. Attendees will have the chance to bid on these items and more in both a live auction that begins at 5 p.m. and a silent auction that runs throughout the evening while supporting the Coalition’s work.
The Salty Heifer Food Truck will be on-site, serving up some great food, and Oberfranc’s Home Bakery will be offering their delectable baked goods. Local artists and craft makers will round out the marketplace, offering unique, handmade items for purchase.
Live music from the Richwine Road Band will fill the air, creating a lively atmosphere for the whole family to enjoy. The local band promises to provide the perfect soundtrack to this community-centered event.
“This is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of what makes this region special,” said PCSC board member Heather Cantua. “We’re bringing together local food, drink, music, and art, all while supporting a cause that’s critical to the future of our rivers and salmon.”
The Fish N Brew event is open to all ages, with activities and offerings to engage the whole family. Artist Jack Datisman will also offer up his annual faux beer label for sale. He has created these labels since 1997.
Proceeds from Fish N Brew will go directly to the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition’s mission to enhance salmon and steelhead habitats across the Olympic Peninsula. The funds raised will help continue vital restoration projects that benefit both local fish populations and the broader ecosystem.
So, gather your friends and family and head to the Kit’la Roundhouse on Oct. 5 for a day of delicious food, refreshing brews, local crafts, and live music—all in support of the Pacific Coast Salmon Coalition. Don’t miss out on this exciting community celebration!
