Forks Middle School Students of the Month for November

5th Grade: Grace Hammer

Grace’s favorites include the color purple, tigers, and math. Grace’s favorite food is chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. In her freetime Grace likes doing math and talking to math nerds like her dad about nerdy math things. This year Grace likes school because her teachers are nice. Grace has set the goal to get good grades and be as organized as she can this year. Grace’s teacher reported, “Grace is a self driven learner.

She always strives and often succeeds to go above and beyond. She is well liked by her peers and teachers alike because she is kind and helpful. I enjoy her quirky personality which makes her unique and interesting.” Another teacher commented, “Grace elevates the discussions in our class. She often brings in her experiences and takes the discussion to the next level. She is a logical and thoughtful thinker who often finds solutions and connections “outside of the box”.

When absent, Grace emails her teachers for her assignments and immediately turns them in when she returns. I enjoy having Grace in my classroom.” Grace would like to thank herself, her parents, and her teachers for supporting her! Great job Grace!

6th Grade: Ka’Tarra Jackson

Teachers said Ka’Tarra was selected as Student of the Month for her, “for her outstanding dedication and exceptional academic performance.” Ka’Tarra likes the colors blue and purple. Her favorite food is beef and broccoli. Her favorite animals are bunnies and puppies. This year her favorite subjects are ELA and Math. In her freetime Ka’Tarra likes doing nails. This year she likes school because she gets to learn and see her friends.

Her goal for the year is to get on honor roll all 4 quarters. Ka’Tarra’s teacher said, “Her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others have made her a role model among her peers. We look forward to seeing all the great things she will continue to accomplish.” Another teacher mentioned, “Ka’Tarra is a joyous student to have in class. Her personality is bubbly and infectious towards other students.

This allows her to complete her work with a smile and a good attitude. Ka’Tarra follows the rules and sets a great example for others.” Ka’Tarra would like to thank her mom for supporting her. Keep up the good work Ka’Tarra!

7th Grade: Madeline Kerr

Madline Kerr likes the color green, strawberries, science, and her favorite animal is a beaver. In her freetime Madeline likes to read and go hiking. Madline likes school because she appreciates the set routine. She also appreciates that she gets to ask questions and study topics that she is curious about.

Madeline has the goal of improving her handwriting this year. Teachers and staff members said many great comments about Madeline: “Madeline is the quiet, yet very productive student. She is such a wonderful person to have in class and I would love to have an entire class with her work ethic. Madeline is a strong musician to boot!” “Madeline has an amazingly creative mind and a highly developed sense of humor. She takes her work seriously and is extremely conscientious about what she produces. She’s usually the first student waiting outside of my room in the morning, and it’s always a joy to see her. She is highly deserving of this recognition.”

“Madeline Kerr is kind, sweet and bright. She’s always engaging in class and is a great role model for her peers.” “Madeline is always ready to learn and extremely helpful. During lessons, she will ask thoughtful questions and produces exceptional work. When finished with assignments, she will always ask if I need help or if there is additional work she can do. “ Madline would like to thank her family and Lillian Crippen for supporting her. Way to go Madeline!

8th Grade: Joey Sorensen

Joey was selected as the Student of the Month for his leadership abilities, his drive to make school a better place, and his kind heart. Joey’s favorites include the color red, hamburgers, ducks, and history. When Joey is not at school he enjoys hunting and participating in the derby. Joey likes school because he likes to learn and he gets to see his friends.

This year Joey’s goals are to get a 4.0 all year. Joey’s teacher commented,”Joey is a born leader. He is active in both ASB and 8th grade class leadership, has volunteered in numerous ways to help the class raise funds for the class trip, and has led the hallway decorating project. In class he excels at academics and often thinks in creative ways to solve problems.” Another teacher reported, “Joey has a heart of service.

He is always willing to do things for others, and focused on how to best serve Forks Middle School. He is an advocate for all students and isn’t afraid to step outside of his comfort zone from time to time if it means it will help others. He is a great model of behavior, especially respect, for his peers. Thank you Joey.” Joey would like to thank his mom, dad, friends, and teachers for supporting him.
