Rainforest Run around
Motorcycles are expected to roar around Forks this weekend for the Sixth Annual Rainforest Run.
Centered around the Cycle Camp on Mora Road outside Forks, it features a poker run through the West End, camping, music, food, vendors, contests and prizes.
The Walrus, a Beatles tribute band, will play Friday night. Moody Blues Tribute Band Threshold plays Saturday.
Miss Rainforest Run will be decided in a contest at 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Thunder returns
Another round of drag racing is set for the weekend, as West End Thunder again fires up its muscle car-madness at the Forks Airport.
Races are set for Saturday and Sunday, with more than 100 racers expected to hit the track.
Cost to enter a car in the races is $35. Admission for show cars and motorcycles is $15 a day. Admission for spectators is $10 for those age 13 or older.

MS VB meet Monday
A meeting for Forks Middle School volleyball players and their parents will be at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, in the middle school cafeteria. Coach Erin Queen advises all parents to bring insurance cards and proof of physicals.
