The public is invited to join thousands of people across the state who plan to Drop, Cover, and Hold On on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 10:18 a.m. in the 2012 Great Washington ShakeOut.

"More than 12.5 million people were registered to participate in ShakeOut drills worldwide in 2011. Participating is a great way for your family or organization to become better prepared to survive and recover quickly from big earthquakes," a report from Penelope Linterman of the Clallam County Emergency Management Division, which is a division of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
