The door is shut on Dazzled by Twilight’s attempt to open a restaurant-bar in the same building as Claude Clark’s former Vagabond restaurant/bar on N. Forks Avenue.
The closing of The Lodge at Forks restaurant and Twilight Lounge bar was announced on Sunday, Jan. 23, in a Dazzled by Twilight Facebook posting. On Monday morning, Jan. 24 the owners andoperators of the bar/restaurant had posted notice of the closing on its front door.
The dining and drinking venture was in business for about one year.
The notice on the front door reads: “We would like to apologize for an inconvenience this may cause. We fully support the other local dining establishments and businesses in Forks and hope that you will support them as well…”.
In a Dazzled by Twilight Facebook posting made last weekend, owner Annette Root wrote: “We are sad as well, but Dazzled by Twilight will continue to run events…and will be continue to be a presence in Forks.”
She said the Dazzled by Twiight store in Forks would remain open.
Her husband, Tim Root, who often handles publicity for the restaurant and bar business, and Dazzled by Twilight, sent an email to the Forks Forum on Monday. He wrote: “As you have probably heard, Annette and I have decided to close the Lodge Restaurant and Bars at 81 N. Forks Avenue.” Root said he would try to get a statement on the closing to the paper by Tuesday morning, but no statement was received.
Annette Root had announced the closing of her Twilight tour company in mid-January.
In another Facebook posting, she said that two years after taking over the Twilight tours from the Forks Chamber of Commerce and turning it into a business, Root and her husband decided to give up the business to focus on their family.
The company, she announced, would be taken over by Dazzled by Twilight Tour Company driver-guide Travis Belles and his wife Rianilee Belles and Benjamin DuPreez.
The new tour company is named Twilight Tours in Forks. The Dazzled Twilight tours office in the former Lloyd George jewelry store space on N. Forks Ave. has been shuttered and the new tour company opened up recently in the adjacent retail space.
