State Sen. Derek Kilmer, Democrat candidate for retiring Rep. Norm Dicks’ seat in the House, is planning a campaign stop in Forks on Sunday, Oct. 14.

 A veterans group is scheduled to meet with Kilmer at 3 p.m. at the Forks Community Center. "It’s an opportunity to hear what the plans are for veterans in the next Congress and for us to provide him an image of what veterans and their families are up against on the West End," said event organizer Ed Bowen of Ozette.
