Forks varsity volleyball had a strong showing at the Centralia Invitational. Forks beat Aberdeen 2 games to 0, beat Rochester 2 games to 0 and then lost to Shelton to come out second in pool play.
Entering bracket play, Forks beat Elma 2 games to 1 to make it to the semi-finals where they lost to Centralia 1 game to 2.
Bailey Queen lead the Spartans with 21 kills and 14 stuff blocks, Britney Dean added 6 kills, Rian Peters and Jayden Olson each had 5 kills, Bailey Kratzer had 4 kills while Skyler DeMatties and Samantha Winger had a strong showing in back row play.
In the serving department, Brittney Woodruff was at 100 percent and Kierra Brandt was 23 for 25.
Julia Lauche lead in assists and was 44 for 46 from the serving line.
We are a very young team and it is so exciting to see progress on a daily basis. There were a few games that we were behind and the girls just stayed steady and came out with the wins! This is going to be a very exciting season for Forks Volleyball with all girls contributing to our success.
