Opal passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Life Care Center of Sedro Woolley, Washington. Opal was born on March 13, 1935, in Forks, Washington to Roy
and Una Parker.
She was raised in Forks where she attended school and graduated. She began working a number of jobs until moving with her folks to Lyman, Washington in 1976.
Opal also worked for Draper Valley Farms in Mount Vernon as a bookkeeper until she retired after 20 years.
Opal got married on September 27, 1984, to the love of her life, Denny Riggs. She was so happy until his unexpected death September 9, 1986.
She is survived by her brothers and sister-in-laws Richard and Crystal Parker of Sequim, Walt and Phillis Parker of Sedro Woolley and Elmer and Kathy Parker of Towanda Pennsylvania. She also has several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Una, sister Lillian, brother Royal, sister-in-law Grace, brother Gary and sister-in-law Jackie, niece Valerie Parker Richards and nephew Joe Parker.
A potluck gathering in celebration of Opal’s life will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from 1-4pm at the home of Walt and Phillis Parker, 516 Nelson St, Sedro Woolley, WA 98284.
