Clallam EDC will host two events to help answer the question “should you become an entrepreneur?” The first event, co-sponsored by the City of Sequim, will be Friday, March 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Sequim City Council Chambers, 152 W. Cedar Street. The second event will be held in Port Angeles on Wednesday, March 28 at 5:15 p.m. at the Skills Center, 905 W. 9th Street.

Businesses with up to four employees make up almost 70 percent of Clallam County’s establishments and the success of these businesses is vital to the local economy. “We want those who have the passion to own their own business to have all the resources possible to help them decide if its right for them”, explained Executive Director Bob Schroeter.

The hour and a half workshop aims to address the barriers and evaluate realistically whether or not self-employment is a viable option. It also examines what types of business ownership are possible and which one might be the better fit for you.

Cindy Osborn, a business and career coach with over 25 years experience as an entrepreneur and business leader, will be leading the courses. She has built and sold multiple companies including a $7 million staffing company. In her work with The Entrepreneur’s Source Cindy has found that 75 percent of the U.S. workforce has expressed a desire to be self-employed. Her desire is to help people achieve their own career goals and dreams by using practical and logical methods to ensure success.
