The North Olympic Library System (NOLS) will host two “Gardening on the West End” events with local gardener Karolyn Burdick.
The first event will happen at the Clallam Bay Branch Library on Friday, March 16, at 1:30 p.m., and the second event will happen at the Forks Branch Library on Saturday, March 17, at 2 p.m.
Gardening on the West End isn’t for the faint of heart, but Karolyn Burdick will help you turn your horticultural nightmares into gardening dreams. Karolyn Burdick, longtime local gardener, will help you prepare a garden space for planting.
Burdick specializes in adapting planting to the local climate and soil conditions. She will speak on timing, record keeping, succession planting, as well as share tips and tricks she has learned over the years.
Burdick has lived much of her life in the Pysht Valley. Burdick’s gardening accolades include a degree in botany from the University of Washington, Master Gardening classes, as well as assisting in starting the Clallam Bay/Sekiu community garden.
