OPNET Det. Sgt. Jason Viada reported on Friday, March 9 that James G. "Chipper" Rode, age 46 of Sekiu, was charged this week with ten felonies in Clallam County Superior Court. The charges, which include five counts of Delivery of a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a Designated School Bus Stop, three counts of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Possession of Heroin, are the results of an OPNET search and arrest at Rode’s home on Friday, March 2. 

Rode’s arrest was the result of probable cause developed during a cooperative investigation between several agencies in February and March. During the investigation OPNET purchased controlled substances from Rode on at least five separate occasions.

Rode was booked into jail after his arrest on March 2. However, at this time Rode is free on bail as he awaits further court proceedings.

He was selected by OPNET in part because of his extensive criminal history. Rode is a Level 3 (high risk to re-offend) sex offender, and his criminal history includes at least 21 previous convictions.
