 Clallam County Superior Court Judge-Elect Erik Rohrer is scheduled to be sworn in on Monday, Jan. 7 at 2:00 p.m. in Clallam County Superior Court Courtroom 1. The Honorable Susan Owens, Washington State Supreme Court Justice, will officiate at the ceremony. 

The event is open to the public and a reception will immediately follow. Judge Rohrer was elected to the superior court bench in the November election after serving 12 years as a Clallam County District Court Judge in Forks. 

Rohrer was appointed as a district court judge in January 2001 and elected in 2002, 2006 and 2010. Rohrer has been an attorney in Washington State for over 25 years. As an attorney, he worked in private practice, representing individuals and businesses, and as an Assistant Attorney General, representing the State of Washington. 

He opened the Port Angeles Attorney General’s Office in 1991- the first such office based on the Olympic Peninsula – and served as manager and lead attorney of that office for 10 years.  

Rohrer currently serves on the Peninsula College Board of Trustees, as Chair of the bipartisan Washington State Office of Civil Legal Aid Oversight Committee and on the board of the Peninsula Trails Coalition. He has previously been president of the boards of several other organizations, including the Forks Chamber of Commerce and the Forks Hospital Foundation. He earned his B.A. degree from Western Washington University and his J.D. degree from Willamette University College of Law. Rohrer lives in the West End of Clallam County with his wife, Cari, who teaches at Forks Middle School.
