One Forester’s Restoration Efforts on the Olympic Peninsula and an introduction to CMER (Cooperative Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research Committee) of the Department of Natural Resources.

We are very fortunate to have Mr. Murray share his 40-plus years of forestry experience in professional silviculture efforts on the Olympic Peninsula, as well as an introduction to the DNR’s CMER Committee. He will be speaking on his experience over the last several decades of helping forest lands owners get the highest value from their forests by guiding individual owners in relation to their forestlands’ unique characteristics. Mr. Murray has experience in all aspects of modern forestry, with a special emphasis on forest inventory and silviculture specific to the Olympic Peninsula. He is currently involved in several research areas.

For our Evening Talk, he will focus on riparian forest restoration and give us an introduction to CMER. Mr. Murray is currently a member of the Port of Port Angeles Timber Advisory Committee and privately consults with forest land owners. Mr. Murray brings a working perspective to his audience on managing forestlands, permitting issues, planning appraisals and harvest, forest restoration, and silviculture. He provides input at the local and state levels on public policy issues relating to forestry.
