George Audlee Earley passed away Oct. 9, 2018. He was born in Copperhill, Tennesee on Oct. 19, 1926, to Harley Earley and Ida McKenna Earley.
George came to Washington while still a teenager. He worked at Quillayute Air Base during the war. After the war, he went to work for the Highway Dept. in Forks and Clallam Bay.
He married Betty Conaway on Nov. 16, 1951. They made their home in Clallam Bay and had five children. They were married for 65 years. After 30 years with the State George retired. He did many small jobs, then he became a mail carrier, hauling mail to Lake Ozette and later to CBCC. He retired after 23 1/2 years and bought a trailer and RV park.
George was always busy and always had a story. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty, his parents, three brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his children; Sandy Thomas, Cecil Earley, Cindy Smathers, Cathy Wall, and Frank E. Earley; one sister, five grandchildren, and nine Great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers please donate to a favorite charity.
