Spartan boys and girls combine for six individual wins at Hoquiam Meet

Forks boys and girls track athletes combined to win six individual events at a four-team meet at Hoquiam’s Sea Breeze Oval on Thursday.

Luke Dahlgren and Wesley Camacho won two events apiece for the Spartans.

Dahlgren set a personal best mark of 42-feet, 1 inch in the shot put and claimed the discus with a distance of 135-7.

Camacho won the 1,600 meters with a time of 5 minutes, 7 seconds and the 800 in 2:18.

Hayden Queen cleared 5-6 to win the high jump for the Spartans.

Hoquiam won the meet with 114 points and Tenino edged out the Forks boys 40-37.

On the girl’s side, Candida-Rose Sandoval won the 300 hurdles (59.16) and Karen Ensastegui-Salazar (6:19) edged teammate Melisa Galindo (6:22.9) for first in the 1,600-meter run.

The Spartans were second with 44 points in the girls meet. Hoquiam won with 122 points, while Tenino was third with 28.
