Forks Spartan Luke Dahlgren won the discus at the 1A District 4 Track Meet and also qualified for the state 1A track meet in the shot put. Dahlgren will compete in the discus on Friday, May 24, and in the Shot Put on Saturday, May 25.

In addition to the Spartan Fastpitch team heading to state competition this weekend, three Spartan Track and Field athletes will also be competing at the State level in Cheney! Good luck guys!

Joining Dahlgren at the state track meet will be his teammate Wesley Camacho, who ran a personal-record second at district in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10 minutes, 44.09 seconds, a personal record. Camacho will compete in the 3200 on Saturday, May 25.

The top three places from the 1A District qualify for the state meet that begins Thursday in Cheney. Skyler Steffen finished fourth in the discus with a throw of 129-5, missing out by less than two inches. Steffen will get to attend the meet as an alternate. Photos Lonnie Archibald
