Lions Club fishing derby Saturday

Trent Lucas, 7, of Tacoma won second place in the 2012 Kids Derby in Sekiu with a 7.51 pound coho. Young anglers will seek coho or pinks on Saturday, Aug. 17.  Clallam Bay-Sekiu Lions invite children, ages 5-14, to enter the derby.

Children ages 5-14 are invited to take place in the Clallam Bay-Sekiu Lions Club’s annual Kids Salmon Derby Saturday, Aug. 17.

 

The derby is free.

 

First-, second- and third-place prizes will be awarded for legal salmon. A prize smorgasbord will be awarded to runners-up.

 

Refreshments will be served at the Lions Club swings near Olson’s Resort.

 

Registration starts at 5:30 a.m. at Olson’s and Van Riper’s resort.

 

The Lions Club Kids Derby is supported by donations from individuals and local businesses.
