Sweet Competition!

Sweet Readings and decorative handmade gingerbread houses decorated the FHS library. Mrs. Castellano’s Culinary classes created their best gingerbread houses to show and to take home.

There were 80 gingerbread houses and 77 were completed.

The ingredients for everyone were:

60 pounds of flour

20 pounds each of shortening, sugar, and molasses

40 pounds of powdered sugar

7 dozen eggs used

500 candy canes

15 pounds of spice drops

and many other toppings used on the rooftops and around the houses.

The houses were judged by staff and the top five houses were chosen. 1st place is Emma White, 2nd is Trent Chase, 3rd is Madelyn Salazar, 4th is Sheena Kosz-Cleveland, and 5th is Ashlynn Carstensen.
