What does the perfect espresso drink and a real estate transaction have in common? For the purposes of this story the answer is Paige Kennedy.

For many Forks coffee lovers, Paige has been getting their morning off to the perfect start at the Shot in the Dark coffee stand for a number of years. Last week she started on a new chapter in her life as the newest broker at Forks Avenue Real Estate.

Paige was born in Forks and graduated from Forks High School. Forks Avenue owner Erin Queen said, “I have known Paige through youth league volleyball, she is polite and friendly and she has a great work ethic. I think Paige is going to do great.”

Paige said, “I see my coffee customers every day, they become more than just my customers, now I am so excited to help people in a different way.” Last Friday was Paige’s first day doing ‘floor time.’ That is the time in the office a broker takes cold-calls and walk-ins.

Paige said she is also excited about getting out of the office too. She has been going along on showings and learning the paperwork.

“I passed my real estate test the first time, I didn’t want to fail, I wanted to get on with it,” Paige said.

When Paige isn’t working she likes to go horseback riding and coach youth league.

The good thing about real estate is the flexiblity, so Paige’s coffee customers need not fear for now, Paige will still work a shift at the coffee stand and work afternoons at the real estate office.

According to Erin, local real estate has changed with the vacation rental market, staying the same is rentals continue to be scarce. “People want to move here,” Erin said.
