This week in 1999 thousands had attended the Makah potlatch. The city of Forks announced it was gearing up for potential Y2K issues. The Starr Bros. Circus was coming to Tillicum Park. The Forks Middle School Band had marched in the Rhododendron Parade.
In 1974 Allen Logging Company truck drivers had once again earned the Safeco Insurance Co. “No Accidents” Award. The Forks Congregational Church had formed a Children’s Choir (photo). June Cassell was “bowler of the week.” Peninsula Telephone was advertising the new pushbutton phone … “replace your old rotary dialing method.”
In 1952 Mrs. Blake’s piano students had held a recital; Anine Miller and Carol Henry were among the students performing. The Forks eighth grade was graduating 49 students. Forks Wranglers Horse Club had competed in a Sequim Horse show. The Nick Petrovich family had traveled to Michigan to visit relatives.
