The Forks Church of the Nazarene has welcomed a new pastor Jesse Simmons, formerly of Bonney Lake, he gave his first sermon in Forks on July 9.
Simmons was previously the associate Pastor at the Bonney Lake Nazarene Church and he and his family found themselves losing the spot they had been renting. Finding nothing in their area in their price range, “We were told about a need in Forks,” Simmons said, “God brought us here.”
Simmons was told it rains a lot, you really need to want to go …So Simmons and family came to check it out. “We came out and visited, and felt God was calling us, everyone has been so kind and gracious,” Simmons said.
Joining Simmons in Forks is also his wife, son, three dogs, and two cats.
Forks Church of the Nazarene is currently holding services at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 1141 E. Division St., Sundays at 11 a.m. Simmons also has an office space in the old Nazarene Church on Sol Duc Way.
A fun fact …When Simmons was a kid he was with a group that helped paint the church on Sol Duc Way.
“We are excited to be here, to see what great things God has in store,” Simmons shared.
