After a summer of gardening, Bogachiel Garden Club members resumed monthly meetings last Wednesday at the Forks Community Center on Maple Avenue.
In addition to committee reports, the members shared “successes and woes” what worked and what didn’t over the summer. Some of the woes included elk and unwanted squash. Some had success with roses and African violets.
Smokey Bear/Woodsy Owl Chair Kris Ayers shared information on the Smokey Bear Poster Contest sponsored by the National Garden Club. The contest is open to school children grades first through fifth. Posters should be 11”-by-17” and include the message, “Only you can prevent Wildfires.” Those interested can contact Ayers at 360-963-2550. Posters are due by Nov. 30.
Garden Club meets the third Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m. at the Community Center on Maple Avenue.
New members and guests are always welcome.
