Joyce Daze Wild Blackberry Festival 2022

The 2022 Joyce Daze Wild Blackberry Festival will be held on Saturday, Aug.6. Of course, we will still be serving our delicious blackberry pie as it is the festival’s main attraction. The freshly baked pies are made with the celebrated local wild blackberries. We are hoping to bake more than 200 pies. Slices of pie topped with ice cream are on sale starting at 10 am for as long as they last. Proceeds go towards scholarships and local projects.

Highlights of the festival also include a parade, children’s activities, an arts and crafts show, vendors’ booths, demonstrations and live entertainment. The Joyce Fire Department will have their fire engines available for kids to visit.

The annual event kicks off at 7 a.m. with the pancake breakfast and lasts until 3:30 p.m. when the raffle/button drawing is finished. Joyce is located 14 miles west of Port Angeles on State Route 112, which is Washington’s prettiest National Scenic Byway. Entertainment begins at 10 a.m. Local bands will be featured throughout the day in front of the Joyce Museum.

The entertainment, which is always fun and lively, is organized by Dave and Rosalie Secord of Luck of the Draw.

Two of our events are back after a COVID break. Our early morning pancake breakfast will start at 7 am in the Crescent Grange. The breakfast will be a fundraiser for the Crescent Grange Scholarship Fund. The popular pie-baking contest is also back. Rules regarding pies and information about the contest are on our website.

The Slug Races, a fundraiser for the fire department, will happen after the parade at the Family Kitchen. There will still be lots of ways to have fun so come out and join this community event for a great time.
