During October and November, the Olympic Corrections Center (OCC) came together to have some fun and raise money for the Combined Fund Drive (CFD).
CFD chairman Diane Winters led a very successful campaign which began with a facility favorite game of bingo followed by a soup and bread feed and ending October with hot spiced cider and homemade cookies which were all provided by generous staff donations and raised $358.50.
If that weren’t enough, what began as a joke by Superintendent John Aldana turned into an actual hot dog eating contest!
The competition was intense with Therapeutic Community staff member David Muckley taking first place out of 10 contestants.
Muckley won easily, consuming six full-sized hot dogs in the allotted three minutes, earning him one very full stomach, a plaque and bragging rights for the year. During the event, concessions also were available for purchase by the spectators (hot dogs, of course!)
