Soroptimist announce scholarship awards

Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rainforest (SIORF) is pleased to announce the scholarship awards for spring, 2024. Our club funds Soroptimist “first time” and “renewal” scholarships, as well as the Diane Demorest Memorial one for medical careers other than MD.

We administer private funds for the Hull Family Foundation, which funds “first-time” and renewal scholarships, as well as the Prue Miller Memorial scholarship and the Cindy Mesenbrink scholarship for juniors and seniors. Soroptimist honored these winners on May 30, 2024, at a special meeting held at 6 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Forks, open to winners and their families or friends. Light refreshments were served.

Rowan Ball received the Violet Richardson Award. This award is presented to Rowan in recognition of her efforts to make the world a better place through volunteer action. She received $500 and in the spirit of giving, donated half to Ginger’s Closet.
