The 10U Forks Babe Ruth softball team qualified for state play at Hoquiam this week. Here the team parades around a Tillicum Park diamond on July 5 during the opening ceremonies of the West End Youth League-hosted 61st Annual Washington State Babe Ruth Fast Pitch Tournament. Some 20 teams competed in games played both at Duncan Fields and at the Tillicum ball fields. Many community volunteers lent a hand in staging the tournament which ran four days and filled sidewalks and motel rooms in Forks.
