The 2022 Fun Days Art and Craft show at Sekiu, WA. was back up and running after a three-year absence. The three-day event had a great turnout! Visitors enjoyed live music and singing on Friday from Roger Lein, on Saturday, Sarah Grafstrom and Joey Schwerin played guitar and sang. Great piano music was played by artist June Bowlby.
Sekiu-Clallam Bay artist, Lora Malakoff, showed off her amazing skill over the three days, by painting a very large cloud painting.
The show awards and ribbons were determined by People’s Choice votes.
Craft winners: Best in show, Janiel McClain Post, for her quilt, “Let’s Yo Yo Around.”
First place, Mary K. Michelena, for her quilt “Night Sky”, Second Place, a tie, K.C. Winter for her painted rocks “Gnome Home”, and also Tony Gutierrez for his gourd art, “Deer Antler Gourd,” Third place, Paul Blake for his clay/porcelain sculpture, “The Great Wave.”
Art winners: Best in Show, K.C.Winter “The Spirit of Cape Flattery.”
First place, Lora Malakoff, “The Sun and The Moon”, second place, a tie, Sue Heiny “Aunt Caroline’s House” and Lora Malakoff, “IF I could Fly,” third place, tie, Martha Ellul, “Misty Mountains,” and Sue Heiny “Elana Godiva.”
Youth Art winners: Best in Show, Peyton Winter, “Cat,” First place, Calliope E. Foster, “Kitty, Bunny,
Field,” Second, Calliope E.Foster, “Rainbow Bridge.”
Flora Finley won The Mark Bowlby Award, for “Grandpa and Grandma” and K.C. Winter won The Memorial Award for, “Clallam River.”
