2022 QVSA sets new one-day record …just over $100,000

After a two-year absence, the Quillayute Valley Scholarship Auction was back in a big way! Even though it was set for one day an amazing record-breaking amount was raised … The total on Monday was $96,931 with more cash donations still coming in! An additional $10,000 donation was received on Monday!

A big part of the auction’s success is volunteers …at the table volunteering are Tina Hagen, and Traci and Ron Hurn.
Forks Elementary Principal Matthew Holshouser served as one of the auctioneers for a time on Saturday afternoon …up for bid on the big screen …a fishing trip, cheesecake, a gift basket and a Hoh Tribe paddle.
Senior class members were kept busy taking items through the crowd for a closer look …Aspen Rondeau displays a handblown glass river rock …valued at $500.
Juan Almazan kept the auction action flowing over the radio waves on KBDB FM 96.7. Juan is a senior parent … his wife Angelica was busy with the senior parent concessions.
Native baskets and many other one-of-a-kind items were donated.
