Soroptimist International of the Olympic Rain Forest proudly presents its 29th annual Festival of Trees. This year’s theme is “A Hometown Christmas.” Open house opportunities will take place at the Rainforest Art Center on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 1-4 p.m., and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Stop in to view the trees, vote for your favorite, feast on delicious baked goods, enjoy live entertainment, bid on silent auction wreaths, and get into the Christmas spirit.
The real excitement begins on Sunday, Dec. 8. Doors open at 1 p.m., and the auction begins at 2 p.m. Tickets for a specially decorated tree will be available for purchase. Refreshments will be by donation.
The Festival of Trees is SIORF’s main fundraiser. “Money raised at this event supports scholarships, awards, Forks Middle School Student of the Month, Mammogram Fund, SOS Cancer Transportation Fund, comfort kits, and our local Weekend Backpack Program, just to name a few things,” said organizer Berlinda James.
