This week twenty-five years ago Howard Yanish had taken a group of Minnesota 8th graders on the Forks Chamber’s Logging and Mill Tour. They had visited a logging site, set some chokers, and visited a mill. A photo shows them maybe touching a slug (photo)? Forks High School athletes had presented a style show of local fashions. Dalaina, Emily and Kaitlyn had modeled (photo). Brownie Troop 805 had donated some leftover Girl Scout Cookies to Sunshine and Rainbows. Bud and Gerry Klein were celebrating 50 years of marriage.
This week in 1975 …Sadly the Forks Forum archives are missing a couple weeks here …hopefully back next week.
This week in 1953 the Forks Water Company trial date had been set for May 19th. In business news Howard Hansen had purchased the Evergreen Cafe located in the Woodland Hotel. Louise Gaydeski had previously owned and operated the cafe/business the previous five-and-a-half years. Hansen was offering a pre-Easter dinner, with turkey, dressing, sweet potatoes, hot cross buns, and homemade pie and cake and …FREE coffee.
