On Monday, April, 22 at about 4:39 p.m., Washington State Patrol reports that an accident occurred at SR110 and US101. A 2019 Nissan Sentra 4-door driven by Jade S. Andrey, 30-years-old, of Switzerland, was Southbound when the vehicle failed to negotiate the turn onto SR 110.
A second vehicle, a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo, driven by Barbara Batchelor, of Forks, was stopped to turn southbound onto US101. WSP reports that the Sentra hit the Aveo and sent it 60 feet off the roadway where it stopped at the tree line. The Andrey vehicle came to rest facing eastbound on SR110.
Also in the Sentra were passengers Marie Morisod, age 30, Coralie Barman, age 30, and Flavia Storelli, age 29, all of Switzerland. A passenger in the Aveo was Kelsey Batchelor, age 20. All involved were transported to the Forks Hospital; all were wearing seatbelts.
Both vehicles were totaled and impounded to West End Motors.
WSP has determined the cause of the accident was distracted driving and the driver of the Sentra was charged with Negligent Driving 2.
