A vehicle-motorcycle collision took place Feb. 23, at about 6 p.m., one mile east of Sappho. Jacob Hull, age 14 was attempting to cross US Highway 101 from south to north when he was struck by a vehicle. Hull’s motorcycle was a 1987 Honda XR100R, and Washington State Patrol reports he was wearing a USDOT compliant helmet.
The vehicle, a 2009 Hyundai Elantra, was driven by Carolyn Brandelius age 64 of Forks. Brandelius was westbound when her vehicle struck Hull at mile post 206. She was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Hull was injured and airlifted to Harborview. WSP reports the accident is still under investigation.
